Christmas is the feast of God's love for us: the divine love that inspires, directs and corrects change, and defeats the human fear of leaving "safety" to cast us back onto the "mystery".
Instead of complaining in these difficult times about what the pandemic prevents us from doing, let us do something for someone who has less: not the umpteenth gift for ourselves and our friends, but for a person in need whom no-one thinks of! #Angelus
#Prayer during the time of #Advent helps us to remember we are not more righteous or better than others, but that we are all sinners who need to be touched by God's mercy. #GeneralAudience
I am really proud to be adding my voice to help #EndDomesticSilence and support POWA during these 16 Days Of Activism as they lobby govt to pass 3 protection bills. Add Your Voice;Â simply record your voice note at bit.ly/3lJi006 and help us #EndDomesticSilence. #16Days
I’m beyond thrilled that my friend @JoeBiden and our first Black and Indian-American woman Vice President, @KamalaHarris, are headed to restore some dignity, competence, and heart at the White House. Our country sorely needs it.
"When you create a problem, you create pain. All it takes is a simple choice, a simple decision: No matter what happens, I will create no more pain for myself. I will create no more problems." - Eckhart Tolle
Today we remember the lives we lost on 9/11. Even the smallest act of service is a way to honor them. And just like Jay Winuk, we can honor their memories through service. 911day.org
Jay Winuk remembers his brother Glenn as someone who always went the extra mile to help others. On Sept. 11, 2001, Glenn first helped evacuate his co-workers from their building, then ran towards the World Trade Center where he spent the final moments of his life saving others.
I’m just devastated by the shootings in Kenosha. And I can’t stop thinking about what our kids are seeing every day—and our obligations to them going forward.
To find out how you can take action, check out the @ObamaFoundation's resources at obama.org/anguish-and-action.
And I know you’ll do the same tomorrow night, @KamalaHarris. You’ve got this. So many people will be doing everything we can to get you and @JoeBiden elected this fall. We can’t waste a moment. We’ve got to vote early—and show up in numbers that can’t be ignored.
Let us #PrayTogether today for those who clean hospitals, streets, who empty dumpsters, who go to each house to remove trash. It’s a job that no one sees, but one that is necessary for our survival. May the Lord bless them.
President Ramaphosa will address the nation at 20h30 this evening, Wednesday 13 May 2020, on South Africa’s ongoing measures to manage the spread of the coronavirus through the implementation of a risk adjusted strategy. bit.ly/35SQLJE
Prayer belongs to everyone: to men and women of every religion, and probably even to those who profess no religion. Prayer is born within the secrecy of our being, in that interior place that spiritual writers often call the “heart”. #GeneralAudience
I would like to remind you that on 14 May, believers of every religion are invited to unite themselves spiritually in a day of prayer, fasting and works of charity, to implore God to help humanity overcome the coronavirus #pandemic. #HumanFraternity#PrayTogether
My mother was undoubtedly one of the kindest people I have ever known. She was truly wonderful and was loved, I am certain, by all who knew her. She was very compassionate and felt concern for everyone, glad to give food to others even if it meant she went hungry herself.
Today, many countries are celebrating #MothersDay. I wish to remember all mothers with gratitude and affection, entrusting them to the protection of Mary, our heavenly Mother. Let us also remember those mothers who accompany us from Heaven.
Evidence shows that our urgent and drastic measures to fight COVID-19 have proved effective in delaying the spread of the disease. But easing the lockdown must be done gradually and cautiously. It is more important than ever for South Africans to show patience and courage.
There are certain attitudes that do not allow us to progress in knowledge of the Lord: wealth, apathy, rigidity, clericalism, worldliness... Freedom is lacking, and we cannot follow Jesus without that freedom. #HomilySantaMarta
Today we pray for the deceased who have died because of the pandemic. They have died alone, without the caresses of their loved ones. So many did not even have a funeral. May the Lord receive them into His glory. #PrayTogether
