ALT Pitt GC students as genetic barbies

ALT I stand in solidarity with all Israelis and Palestinians who are grieving the loss of their loved ones, who are grieving the destruction of their homes and neighborhoods—who are grieving as they lay in the presence of extreme uncertainty, as they stare off into a past and a future of incessant war, gruesome violence, and power creating and manipulating fear and hate to expand power. I stand in solidarity as an African American whose people have also experienced massacres, apartheid, forced removals, open-air prisons, terrorist violence, indiscriminate starving and murdering of young and elderly people, with racist ideas justifying all this carnage. I stand in solidarity as a human being with human beings around the world from Gaza to Geneva, from Tel Aviv to Tulsa, from Poltava to Pittsburgh, from the West Bank to West Africa, from Tijuana to Tripoli, from Jerusalem to Jakarta, who long for what we have never fully known. Peace.
