A βclose friendβ on Instagram recorded former Houston Police Department officer Ashley Gonzalez repeatedly using racial slurs while describing black people.
In the footage, she recounts using the same racial slur toward a person in custody during an arrest and later states she felt βat peaceβ after saying it.
HPD has relieved Gonzalez of duty and is conducting an internal investigation into the matter.
