One of the most special parts of exhibition is when we take time to reflect afterwards.

Fourth graders from @mikaylarickard ‘s class visited our exhibition and were so wonderful with the kindergarteners. Her class is also learning about the Everglades so there were a lot of exciting connections being made!

It was beautiful watching the older students taking the time to stop and read about our work.❤️

I’m no longer feeling comfortable with Twitter, but there’s no suitable alternative at the moment to share my students activities with parents, families, and other teachers, so, for now, here goes… I’m so proud of them and want to share a peek at their exhibition from today…

@LorenFoster also helped students paint their props for this movement story. So thankful for her assistance and expertise in both dance and art!!❤️ #DART

We began our exhibition today with a movement story in the dance studio. The wonderful @LorenFoster helped students bring a poem to life while also deepening their understanding of how plants grow (we had an understudy for an absent student so the roots missed their cue😊).

Our roseate spoonbill expert and junior park ranger of Everglades National Park had so much to share with her exhibition guests today. Here’s just a small peek…

Hoping our little sprouts and our basil plant won’t get shredded by the hurricane. Hang on little guys!

Students first took time to think about and design the habitat of their chosen Everglades animal on paper. Here they’re sharing their design with a partner. Later, we’ll take another look and see if we’ve included all of the things that will meet the animal’s needs.

We used more of our materials from @resourcedepot to design the cover of our field guides. We used upholstery fabric for the background and learned that less is more when it comes to adding the accents that complete the layout. #TCSkindergarten

We couldn’t have made these without the beautiful materials from @resourcedepot What could have been more garbage for the landfill was repurposed by kindergarteners into works of art.

Our wonderful dance/art teacher @LorenFoster led K students through another movement story, this time about the seed to plant process. Together they painted their props; students ran the lights and sound; and they all deepened their understanding of what happens to our seeds.

Fourth grade celebrated Wizard of Oz (which they had recently studied in their Benchmark ELA curriculum). So awesome! #TCSBooBash2022

Lots of excitement for Boo Bash today but there was also excitement for our Everglades research. Students are narrowing down their choice of animal for study.
