He looked upon himself, and in his eyes victory turned unto defeat, and both spectres showed themselves to be imposters, with neither of any purpose. For there is here and there, and everywhere is but one meaning, and one purpose under the sun.

As a historical point of fact, Americans have always been dressed as crazy or uncouth. It ought to be seen as a complement. No other nation of people has so thoroughly conquered so vast a swath of land and shaped it into their own means. We will continue to push, industrially, innovatively, optimistically because to deny this is to deny our nature and our birthright. And may fury fall upon all who get in our way - ourselves included.
“This is such an insult to America” America was built by genuine lunatics who risked death to cross oceans and chart frontiers. Americans went to the moon with 1960s technology and aluminum foil. Yes, the ethos of this country is inherently kind of insane, crazy, and ridiculous. Like that Japanese guy said, Americans are stupid and genius at the same time. That’s what makes America great. Dirt bikes doing jumps in front of the White House is a way more authentic expression of the American spirit than anything leftists have ever done. You can literally hear Free Bird playing in your head watching this video. People who hate America sneer at it because they hate what it represents. This is the unhinged, ridiculous, insane, delusional, unconquerable American spirit that they want to conquer but can’t.

What they won't say is that this is from a satirical work, writing from the perspective of Satan - it's like trying to say that Uncle Screwtape was C.S. Lewis all along...

Mark Twain on the Bible “It has noble poetry in it; and some clever fables; and some blood drenched history; and a wealth of obscenity and upwards of a thousand lies” Mark Twain was repeatedly found drunk with whores a block from the newspaper where he worked. Nice try

Guys, I figured it out - Mormonism isn't Christ, it's about when you steal Legos from old people!

Hans Fiene is a faithful gatekeeper - and that's what I appreciates about him.

The Mormon temper tantrum over not being counted as Christian just goes to show that we should not trust them with any political power.

This is just "too much nice and not enough Christ". Christ didn't call you to treat evil with indifference, or soften truth for the sake of feelings. This is lukewarm spit.
There’s a huge difference between righteous rebuke offered out of love for your brother and merciless derision offered out of love for your own ego. I’m seeing far too much of the latter in this whole “LDS aren’t Christian” discussion. Some of y’all think you’re Jesus with a whip of cords. You’re not. If your correction is driven by contempt rather than charity, then you are not defending Christ — you’re offering someone else’s dignity on the altar of your own ego.

The Mormon problem in its entirety: Their beliefs profane our God and His people, and they insist on doing so in His name. This is why Christians hate Mormonism.

The first amendment is only permissible for a Christian nation - It's rights do not apply to those who deny the Creator that gives them; in FORM AND SUBSTANCE.
It will not end until their cult disappears from the Earth - there ought to be laws to that effect. Their missionaries ought to be banned, as well as their churches.

There is no place for Mormonism in the world or heaven.

Parole shouldn't exist. Prison is meant to punish the prisoner, not rehabilitate him. His responsibility to do that is to himself.

The feeling like you don't know shit is the feature of knowing things. The frontier of things you know you don't know will always grow faster than what you have learned. It drives me crazy.
Really funny hearing you two reflect on that because coop, I feel the exact same way and still feel like I don't know shit.

What manufacturers could possibly do... is just sell machines without the CNC and rely on 3rd parties to convert. Stupid New Yorkers will have to do the equivalent of 80% receivers but can't stop them electing stupid people.
This seems like a massive step back in terms of freedom. People should be able to print whatever they want.

Look, if you are a Boomer struggling with property taxes let me help you First, cheaper lunches This cost me 4 bucks Second, check those subscriptions they are expensive! Third, maybe pick up some part time work and cover a bill or two, making a little more helps If that doesn't do it, then you are simply living above your means🤷‍♂️ Sorry, I guess you don't need a 400k house then and should find something affordable in your budget

We absolutely should repeal the 17th amendment though. It completely neutralized the entire purpose of the senate.

This is true to an extent - however to give some insight to the complexity of materials science, when you get to the crystal level many "isotropic" materials also become anisotropic.
composites are scary as frick because they do not fail like normal metal parts with steel or aluminum, you can often ask question “did the stress exceed the material limit?” with composites, you have to ask: which direction? which ply? which material phase? which failure mode?
