Η ιδέα ενός διαδηλωτή στην Τουρκία να ντυθεί Pikachu είναι κυριολεκτικά ιδιοφυής για πολλούς λόγους. Ας δούμε μονάχα πέντε από αυτούς: 1) Κατάφερε σε μια μέρα να κάνει τις διαδηλώσεις υπέρviral. Η εικόνα έχει παίξει παντού, σε όλα τα media και social media σε κάθε γωνιά του κόσμου. Μέχρι και η ηλικιωμένη γειτόνισσα που μένει από πάνω μου στην Οξφόρδη, και που είναι εντελώς κοσμάρα, μου μοιράστηκε γελώντας χθες το βράδυ πως την είδε. 2) Ξεμπροστιάζει με ευφυέστατο τρόπο την βία και καταστολή που χρησιμοποιεί η τουρκική αστυνομία στην -κατά την απόλυτη πλειοψηφία τους μέχρι στιγμής ειρηνικές- διαδηλώσεις. Το βίντεο των νεαρών φοιτητών και του Pikachu που τρέχουν ενώ τους κυνηγούν αστυνομικοί με δακρυγόνα μιλά από μόνο του, αποδομεί και ξεφτιλίζει το αντιδημοκρατικό καθεστώς, όπως έγραψε χθες και η @vivian_e. 3) Ακουμπάει στην υπερδύναμη του μιμιδίου. Αμέτρητες φωτογραφίες και βίντεο έχουν δημιουργηθεί με την χρήση τεχνητής νοημοσύνης, σαν αυτό που αναρτώ εδώ, και ακόμα περισσότερα memes και Pokémon references έχουν δώσει ακόμα περισσότερη ενίσχυση στην αρχική εικόνα (πχ Ερντογαν να καλεί απελπισμένα την Ομάδα Πύραυλο για να μαζέψουν το δαιμόνιο Πόκεμον). Έτσι δημιουργούνται τα σύμβολα στον 21ο αιώνα. Και όσο και να λογοκρίνει κανείς το διαδίκτυο, είναι αδύνατο να εμποδίσεις το χιούμορ και τα memes. 4) Ο συμβολισμός δεν θα μπορούσε να είναι καλύτερος. Ο Pikachu, αν θυμάστε, αρνείτο να μπει στην pokeball και να υποδουλωθεί στον αφέντη του, σαν τα υπόλοιπα Pokémon. Δεν ήθελε να γίνει άβουλο ον. Ήθελε να έχει μια σχέση επι ίσοις οροις με τον προπονητή του και τους ανθρώπους - και τα κατάφερε. Επίσης όσοι είναι nerds θα θυμούνται ότι στον κόσμο των Pokémon ο ηλεκτρισμός έχει πλεονέκτημα απέναντι στο νερό - και η Τουρκική αστυνομία βασίζεται σε μεγάλο βαθμό στις αντλίες νερού κατά των διαδηλωτών. 5) Έτσι ακριβώς, όπως βλέπετε στο βίντεο της ΑΙ από κάτω τον Pikachu, με ένα διαβολικό και άφοβο χαμόγελο και με μπόλικη ηλεκτρική ενέργεια, βγήκαν πολλοί φίλοι στην Τουρκία χθες, για όγδοη συνεχόμενη ημέρα, για να διαδηλώσουν. Αψηφώντας τις απαγορεύσεις, τις συλλήψεις, τον εκφοβισμό. Όπως είπε και ο Ash σε ένα εχθρικό Pokémon, καθώς έμπαινε μπροστά από τον μικρό του Pikachu στο πρώτο επεισόδιο της σειράς για να τον προστατέψει, «I can't be defeated by the likes of you!». 💛
