Skenes hasn’t been elite, whole starting staff has been unreliable, bullpen is dogshit, and the offense is understandably swooning w the absences of Cruz and Griffin.

They’re not horrible. Probably mediocre. It’s just a shame that every time you think they’re about to go on a run, someone gets hurt or someone blows a game, etc. Barely any momentum gained.

I am slowly losing interest in this team and it's not because they're horrible.
It's a constant yo-yo with them. It's not your typical ups and downs. They create new ways to lose ballgames.
They have downright had some horrible/deflating losses for it only being June.

Skenes’ velocity isn’t the big issue — I mean, I don’t recall a lot of 100 mph pitches last year — it’s the inefficiency and not going deep into starts. That needs to change ASAP.

Can’t say I’m *worried* about Skenes but he needs to be great for the Pirates to legitimately contend and he isn’t close to that. Lots of talent in this rotation, but few sure things right now.
