🤦♀️not surprised; I have experienced this far too much in my first career as a researcher and HS educator. Most recently, a man thought I was joking about teaching chemistry and kept saying he thought I was really an English or art teacher.

Just had a job candidate mansplain tumor mutations to me because "it's very complicated so it's ok if you don't understand" and then asked when he could speak to the PI 🤦♀️Yes, this happened in real life. #WomenInSTEM #phdlife #academia
