Asked GOP Sen. Kevin Cramer about Trump saying Harris “made a turn” to become a Black person, and he said: “The fact that Donald Trump uses satire to point that out, it's misunderstood by a lot of people, it provides an opportunity for people to attack him, he shouldn't do it. It would be better if he didn't probably, but he's Donald Trump. And I think he's making a relevant political point about Joe Biden's use of race and gender and other things, as well as a rationale for nominating people that are incompetent. And she's a good example.”
Asked if it were appropriate for Trump to say she turned Black: “First, she is what she was at birth, that's what she is. Donald Trump's use of those things to make light of her obsession with identity. It is, again, not wise, but it also shouldn't be overly insulting. I know, everybody's super sensitive. And they all want to turn this into him as some sort of racist.“
