I’m proud to officially announce my candidacy for New York State Assembly in District 65.
I was born in Harlem and raised in Southbridge Towers, a Mitchell-Lama co-op in Lower Manhattan. I’ve lived here since I was three months old. This community raised me — and I’ve spent my life fighting to protect it.
For more than two decades, I’ve worked alongside 9/11 survivors and responders to secure and protect the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act. I co-founded the Coalition for 100% Affordable 5 World Trade Center, helping deliver more than 400 deeply affordable homes on public land. As District Leader and Vice Chair of the Manhattan Democratic Party, I’ve stood with tenants, working families, and small businesses who want to stay and thrive here.
I'm running to protect rent stabilization and public housing, expand affordable housing on public land, strengthen public schools and youth programming, fully fund Medicaid, and ensure Lower Manhattan families have respect, dignity, and a strong voice in Albany.
Lower Manhattan is my home. I’m running because this fight is personal.
