Good win for the kiwi eight in the preliminary race for lanes in Lucerne. 5:36 with Romania second. China and Italy someway back. Adverse weather conditions predicted for Monday mean the final will be on tomorrow starting at 8 pm NZ time
From my collection: Images of the NZ eight 'Koru RC' doing a row past at Henley Regatta in 1990. The year Eric Verdonk won the Diamonds. Dressed in the Teal Blue rowing suits of the sponsor Air NZ
New Zealand Rowing Championships: As a whole 38 events are straight finals, 26 with 2 heats, 7 with 3 heats, 6 with 4 heats, 1 with 6 heats. Are the U19 events past their usefulness? A Mixed Senior Eight sprint as well - will a win effect an individual's classification?
New Zealand Rowing Championships: Of the 12 Championship events offered - 2 have been cancelled with less than 2 entries, 8 are straight finals and only the 1x's require 2 heats. The Regatta allows for 8 lanes to be used these events use 6.
NZ Nationals - Sad News, With less than 2 entries these 5 events are cancelled W Prm 4X-, W U22 4-, W U19 4 , W L/W 2X, and W Prm 8 . How come each of the 4 RPC's cannot boat crews in the Prm events. I wonder how well the remaining Championship Events (Prm) will be supported?
