Omg. My film 'Electric Mom' is sold out. 🎞️ I am so honored @Louis___M to see this edition in your collection. 'Electric Mom' is a posthumanist story in which an artificial mother is created to resurrect a lost wife. She awakens, not through memory, but through embodied perception, gradually slipping beyond the confines of care and obedience. Through a subtle, sensorial emancipation, the film reframes love and autonomy as incompatible with possession, allowing its machine protagonist to claim a life of her own. This year I already got to meet the lovely @madebyoona and @loackme_, take part in objkts art residency with @postanika and @BorisEldagsen and @kevinabosch, and I got my first ever solo exhibition (still running)! It's easy to forget the amazing things that happen here.

The @objktlabs residency prompted me to rethink how I present my practice, and that led me to completely rebuild my website. It is now a clearer home for my work, writing, and exhibitions, and much easier to navigate. I’ve also moved away from WordPress entirely and rebuilt it as a lightweight static site using Astro, GitHub, and plain HTML. alexmayarts.co.uk

I had a great time this week with the second cohort of the @objktlabs residency. They did not shy away from the tasks of writing artist texts—a lifelong practice of communicating most concisely who you are, what you make and why you make it. 🫶 Great work, you all!

As much as my art practice is a journey of self discovery I still have difficulty putting it into words. Something I'm glad the art residency by @objktlabs by @postanika explores! What has been your impression? Would love to hear how you perceive it.

Learning to trust myself and take in all the support and love everyone has given me has led me here. Never in a million years would I think I’d see my art in room full of @beeple and @OBEYGIANT artwork. Thank you for the love everyone and the opportunity to showcase here.

There was something deeply reassuring after this session with @margaretonline at the @objktlabs residency on how to communicate more clearly with your audience. I’ve always felt I struggle to write or explain myself, about my art, or even on making it slightly engaging, mostly because I wanted the work to speak for itself. Today’s talks made me realize how much I actually enjoy discussing and think about it. Even though I get nervous when speaking, mostly because it touches a vulnerable place of yourself, shifting the focus toward the background of your practice rather than trying to define what the artwork “is” opened a new direction for articulating the reasons behind what I do, or better said, why I do it. Thanks to everyone involved today 👏
