As a teen, my first cut was MTNa.
They say the first cut is the deepest, 💕💕
And deep it was.
At first, she appeared loving and caring,
Always there when I needed her.
Then she started taking our love for granted.
Phone calls would go unanswered,
Messages left unreplied.
She knew I had no eyes for anyone else.
Luckily, a new belle arrived on the block, WaridA.
Oh WaridA, oh WaridA!
That cutesy little belle.😍🥰
This pretty-pretty was the talk of town.
Everyone desired her.
Soon, though, she would drown in all that deserved attention.
MTNa fought back for my love.
They say never go back to an ex,
But WaridA made it so easy to return.
She promised never to repeat her past mistakes.
She said she was more mature now.
Well, old habits die hard.
Soon she was back to her old ways.
Perfect timing.
Right from Europe,
Orangex, with her orange cuteness, tempted me.
Temptation is easier to fall for when your love life ain't going well.
The feeling was mutual.
I mean, who wouldn't fall for this twee beauty?
You just had to be there to see it.
Love at its peak.
We really enjoyed that romance.
But all good things eventually come to an end.
Our love was short-lived.
She said life in our village wasn't up to her standards.
She left as quickly as she came.
Like the seducer she was,
MTNa lurked in the shadows,
Reminding me that unless I had never loved her in the first place,
There was no way I could simply forget our past.
No way.
Fool me once.
Fool me twice.
Fool me not again.
I fell Airtelx's allure
Oh sweet Airtelx,
What happened to you, my love?
You promised me so much,
What went wrong, really?
What happened to the daily gifts?
The anniversary gifts?
The love salary?
You gave me what I thought was the ultimate joy.
But for once, you successfully,
Made me rethink my ex, MTNa.
But Zukuba,
Young and fresh,
Told me to have a little pride and only move forward.
We eloped to the islands.
We saw no one.
We heard no one.
It was all too good to be true. 🤩🥳
She was expensive to maintain,
But worth every cent.
Luckily, on the islands, we met RokeLA.
That tall, outspoken, fragile-ego lady.
She was the take-it-or-leave-it type.
Remorseless.
Unrepentant.
Intransigent.
Obstinate.
Proud.
We were never meant to be from the outset.
RokeLA wasn't for me.
Her standards were too high.
Her maintenance costs even higher.
When I returned to the city, loveless,
Guess who I found?
Neighbour Canalz.
Canalz, just like Orangex, was slender and pretty.
So, so pretty in fact.
Even her sweat smelled like palace fragrance.
Wherever she went,
She turned heads.
Left tongues wagging.
But just like MTNa,
Arrogance set in.
Pride replaced love.
Luckily, I had to shift houses.
Guess who my immediate neighbour was?
MTNa.
Arrgh!
Not again.
But with every passing day,
She started looking prettier once more.
Then came Savannax,
That African woman.
She was even prettier in her African craft.
MTNa, I reminded myself,
Had broken my heart.
Not just once. So am never going back
With Savannax, we looked like a perfect couple.
But Lord,
Only we know what a broken home we always returned to.
The love was empty.
Too plastic.
But why have I failed to find the love of my life?
Is it just me?
Or is that simply how love works in this Interneta Town?
I'm tired, tired and tired
