I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be returning to SuperBooth in Berlin on May!
I’m really looking forward to connecting with fellow engineers, musicians, and producers to dive deep into the creative process.
If you’re attending and want to chat about technical insights, creative hurdles, or the future of sound, let’s grab a beer and connect!
See you in Berlin!
Many people ask me what lies behind the sound of my masters. It’s often thought to be a matter of “presets” or some magical piece of gear, but the reality is that my analog mastering chain is a configuration that has taken me years to refine.
Every piece currently in my studio isn’t there by chance or to follow a trend; each piece of equipment was brought in to meet a specific technical and artistic need.
Just scored this pair of 1952 General Electric 5670 vacuum tubes. These aren't your average tubes; they were manufactured under a U.S. Air Force contract and hand-selected by Bendix Radio for aircraft navigation systems back in November '52. 🛡️
Now, 74 years later, these military-grade 'old glories' have found a new home in my @manleylabs Variable Mu. There’s something magical about using 1950s aerospace engineering to glue a modern mix together.
The Maselec in M/S mode 😍. Using those 1kHz/2kHz bands for the Mid and the 27kHz shelf and filter for the Side is amazing. It's a tough task to make this EQ sound anything less than great... #mastering#musicproducer#audioengineer
Just wanted to share that I've added the Dutch Audio MSM1 Mid Side unit to my mastering chain! I'm using it with the Maselec MEA2, and both are running in series with my Manley Massive Passive. I'm really happy with how it's sounding so far. Anyone else using a similar setup?
I’m a mixing & mastering engineer visiting Tokyo and Kyoto, and I’d love to connect with local producers and engineers. I’m looking to exchange experiences and meet creative minds in the Japanese scene.
