I hate to be negative, but gaming is increasingly going down the toilet. It's becoming prohibitively expensive, even for someone like me who has a good salary and no dependents. Like I'm not paying NZ$129 for Star Fox, bro.

There is the indie scene, at least. And fortunately, a lot of games in that space don't need super-powered machines to play them. There's still hope.
And there's AAA stuff that excites me, like the new Virtua Fighter.
But, man, I am definitely going to more discerning.
