Citizenship Commissioner Jeannette Corbiere Lavell and Sandra Nicholas (Lovelace) of Tobique First Nation meet in New Brunswick to discuss their decades of work and agreed: ‘We have fought the battle for our right to belong for all these years and now it is time for the next generation to take up the challenge and carry on the fight. As nations we know who we are and we have the inherent right to determine who our people are.’
