I'm coming out of Twitter retirement (X?) to say, thank you @crowmedicine & Ketch Secor for spending some time with us.
Ketch got the opportunity to talk with @odowdpeter & @WBUR about 25 years of #OCMS & #Jubilee....enjoy! wbur.org/hereandnow/2023/08/…

We need news that makes us smile. Thanks for offering up some slow-mo joy.
🐢 A big thanks to @odowdpeter & @NPR's @hereandnow for visiting our wildlife center to meet the team & help spread the word about the adoptable tortoises who need forever homes! Great story - don't miss the part about Thanos, the doggiest tortoise 😆 vpm.org/npr-news/2023-04-03/…

Cool to see it from that perspective. Always admired that church as I walked underneath the steeple.

OK, a few things: 1. Congrats! Tortie is a peach. 2. Ugh. How many times did I regret not asking if it was Tortie with an "i-e" or a "y"? 3. So many reasons to be in the news. 🤣

When all the beauty around us is gone, at least we’ll still have these screens to sustain us. “For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror.” nytimes.com/2023/03/25/opini…

Today’s @hereandnow co-host is hard at work. @deepafern she’s got some good ideas for the politics roundtable. (Yes, my studio is basically in the bathroom.)

Brief thread about...snow. As of this weekend, the Southern Sierra now appears to have largest snowpack in recorded history (as measured by snow water equivalent, or SWE). Not just for the calendar date, but for *any* date! #CAwx #CAwater [1/n]

Amid a lot of despair in Matamoros, here’s a scene of jubilation. At the big migrant camp, every morning everyone gets on their cellphones for a chance at a appointment to cross the border to the USA. Today, a Venezuelan family that’s been roaming for 5 years got their chance.

Soon they will blossom and the bats will come. It will still stand here when you're gone - I hope.

I don't care what it was for. How could they do this?

I’m 41, and lately there’s been a heart monitor glued to my chest. Which could mean something — or not. I took the day off (you should try it!) and went into this holy desert alone.

I spent the day scrambling over boulders, stopping to toss logs into the current, like a little boy, trying to guess where they would go. I slapped the mud with my bare hands. What a satisfying thud it makes! I ate lunch with a lizard on the banks of an ephemeral river.

…and occasionally, alone with the silence of this great place, I felt the pulse of my heart beating against my chest.
