🇸🇩 Human Rights Watch senior UAE and Saudi Arabia researcher Joey Shea said “it is totally unacceptable that the British government, the US government, and the EU are still failing to call the UAE out by name” for its role in supporting the RSF and enabling atrocities in Sudan.
She said:
“We are three years into this war in Sudan, and the evidence of UAE military support to the RSF is mounting day by day. Allied governments of the UAE continue to rely on the weakest language possible.
They are still saying ‘external actors’ are fueling the war and are too cowardly to call the UAE out by name. That is appalling and needs to stop.
One of our main recommendations is that the UAE’s allies, particularly the UK, the US, and EU member states, need to call a spade a spade and call the UAE out by name.”
