Today's Rare Pepe Lore Lessonā„¢ļø is Series 7, Card 44 - SHREMPEPE by @shawnleary. This is a 1/10,000 card with a circulating supply of 1,133 after 8,867 were sent to the burn address 1BurnPepexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxAK33R in October of 2021. The current floor price is .001 BTC ($62 USD). 103 wallets hold a copy of the card and Shawn is the largest holder with 22.2% of the total circulating supply (252/1,133). A collector was trying to sell me one of these today which prompted me to go look at it. I then discovered that there is a signed sub-asset meaning the person being parodied on the card has seen it. I went to the official Rare Pepe Telegram chat to find out more about it. SHREMPEPE is composed of Charlie Shrem's face superimposed over what I believe to be a cotton-top tamarin, a small New World monkey. Both images were then tinted pepe green. The background is that of the company Shrem founded, the now-defunct BitInstant. The text on the card makes reference to the fact that Shrem was one of the earliest Bitcoiners (investing as a college senior in 2011), is in fact a very hairy individual, went to prison for aiding and abetting the operation of an unlicensed money-transmitting business related to the Silk Road and that the Winklevoss twins invested in Bitinstant. In talking with Shawn today, I learned that after Shrem got out of prison he collaborated with him a bit on the making of this card. Charlie's only request was to "make it the hairiest pepe ever created". In my opinion Shawn nailed it! I realize now that I’ve always curated AND self-produced my own shows. Only recently in ETHCC Cannes I was hired to curated and was given a venue and budget to work with. But for all of my shows before that I always paid out of pocket everything and everyone. I paid for artwork production and framing, I’ve paid for shipping transportation and accommodation of my artists, I’ve paid for venue and booth, I’ve paid for food and beverage, I’ve paid for service, security and handling staff. I’ve never had and never looked for private or public sponsoring because to me that what a gallerist do ! (And I don’t even take 50%) And I realize I likely paid (despite being just a guy in his 20’s trying to do cool stuff ) much more thing than platforms whom have done funding rounds in millions and despite not having huge budget I manage to pull out show that had nothing to envy from the one they could organized. My NFT Paris booth was quite an example of that, managed to make one of the most memorable booth of the edition with less than 5000€. I didn’t cut cost, just did a lot myself, had quote in the 5 figures range for the booth, ended up buying and cutting the wood myself and building the wall myself. Countless of exemples, more my next show schedule to open in July in Paris I’ll be doing that all over again but to a much higher degree. I think I’m done trying to make gold with copper and working with peanuts budgets. I want to try my luck commuting 5 figure budget, making precious gem from raw diamonds and I got to admit for the first time I’ve been thinking of getting sponsors. With a 20% commission (got a gallery partner) I need to sell more than I ever did just to keep the light on, but I guess that’s what conviction in an artist is ! I’m all in ! So if you can help with a RT and intro to a collector or a potential sponsor please do ! This how we build

Thanks @beeple, I’ve been a fan of your art for a long time. This is my new favorite. When I decided to sell my art I wanted every piece on the blockchain and to accept Bitcoin as payment. ā€œThe Internet of Moneyā€ by Andreas Antonopoulos really opened my eyes.
