Quick reflections after 100 live streams of @OfflineOnAir: Live streaming is still a niche format, but it pushes guests to think on their feet and speak their mind. Spontaneity and candour produce honest insights. We observed that headlines and television interviews covered major milestones, and most podcasts focused on retrospective reflections. What was missing was a product/format that captured the regular milestones, setbacks, and decisions that make up 98% of any startup’s journey. Our hunch was that drawing insights from the long, often lonely stretches between major milestones would be far more useful to active builders. We didn’t plan this, but TON is becoming a neutral archive of first-person narratives from the ecosystem. As the current generation of companies matures, it may prove to be a valuable record of how they were built. We don’t ask gotcha questions at TON. Accountability matters, but boards, investors, shareholders, and the media are better suited to provide it. We see our role as surfacing what a company does well so builders can learn from one another and skip avoidable mistakes. I see TON's mission as complementary to our mission at @AngelListIndia, which, at a high-level, is to increase the odds of startup success. Founders are the true stars of TON, as they should be. TBPN is a worthy inspiration. But TBPN is never going to cover the Indian ecosystem. So we took from TBPN what TBPN took from ESPN, and built an independent identity for TON. Our post-stream clips do a great job of amplifying the most useful insights from each conversation. But tuning in live has its own advantage: you can ask a question mid-stream and go from being a passive listener to an active participant. Excited for stream #101 next week. Have fun building!

Offline is now in Ahmedabad. 🤎 Delhi. Mumbai. Bangalore. Dubai. And now our fifth chapter begins. We hosted our first launch dinner this week with an incredible early set of founders, operators, investors, and builders helping us shape the city from day one. No networking energy. No panels. No forced intros. Just thoughtful people, long conversations, and the kind of room you want to stay in for hours. Ahmedabad showed up beautifully. 🚀

This team doesn't clickbait. This team doesn't ragebait. This team doesn't do things for vanity. And doing such high quality work for 100 episodes consistently, that's insane! Amazing stuf, Offline Club, Utsav & co. Underrated af.
Today we hit episode 100 of The Offline Network. So we did the obvious thing. We put six founders in one room who each built something people said couldn't be done. Live at 4 PM IST on @OfflineOnAir. Here's who's on: Ronnie Screwvala, Chairperson and Co-Founder of @upGrad_edu. Pioneered cable TV in India when nobody believed in it. Built UTV. Now reshaping how professionals learn. One country, many empires, one man. Sreevathsa Prabhakar, Founder and CEO of @Servify. He built a global business out of everything the world throws away. Repairs, protection, trade-ins, now the after-sales backbone for the biggest brands on earth across 40 countries. The boring businesses are the ones that last. Abhay Singhal and Mohit Saxena, Co-Founders of @InMobi. Started in a shared apartment. Became one of India's defining tech stories. Now reaching billions of devices every month. Kanika Gupta Shori, Co-Founder and COO of Square Yards. She built one of India's largest proptech platforms while the industry looked the other way. An empire built while the world wasn't watching. Vaibhav Khandelwal, Co-Founder and CTO of @shadowfax_in. The IIT Delhi engineer who mapped every road India forgot. Millions of packages a day, across pin codes everyone else wrote off as too hard. Six founders. One milestone we are genuinely proud of. Episode 100 goes live at 4 PM IST. Catch it live, because you will not want this one on replay.

Bangalore was special ❤️ An evening with Ankush, Vishesh, and Prashant at the stunning Museum of Art & Photography. Somewhere between conversations on startups, ambition, relationships, AI, health, and life, you could feel what makes Offline work. Not networking. Not panels. Just genuinely curious people spending intentional time together. Grateful to everyone who came by. More soon, BLR.

One thing I’ve been thinking deeply about recently is how founder conversations evolve over time. At Offline, our pods are built as small peer groups where founders come together once a month for a 3 hour block. No networking fluff. No panels. No performative “startup community” energy. Just real conversations with people who understand the pressure of building something meaningful. The format has worked beautifully because everyone is learning from each other’s journeys. The shared trauma, shared ambition, shared loneliness of building a company creates very honest rooms. Founders open up about hiring mistakes, cofounder conflict, fundraising pressure, burnout, marriage struggles, leadership insecurities, scaling chaos, everything. But over time, I think every great community needs fresh energy and new perspectives entering the room. So we’re experimenting with something new at @offline_members. We want to build a roster of incredible experts across Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore who can occasionally join founder pods and run intimate learning sessions. Not keynote speeches. Not workshops with 100 people. Small room conversations with top founders dealing with very real business and life problems. Some areas we’d love to explore: AI and productivity Leadership coaching Founder psychology and mental health Team building and culture Storytelling and communication Personal branding Wealth management Relationships and family while building Spirituality and mindfulness Nutrition and fitness for founders Negotiation and sales Executive presence Hiring and org design Biohacking and longevity Performance coaching Consumer psychology Design and taste Writing and thinking Public speaking Energy management Conflict resolution Decision making under pressure …and honestly anything else where you think you can create a genuinely meaningful experience for founders. The upside is getting access to rooms full of exceptional founders and operators inside the Offline community in a very trusted environment. If this sounds like you, leave a comment telling me what you do. Please also send: • a video of a past session / talk / workshop you’ve done • or an article / podcast / anything that helps us understand your work and style You can DM me directly as well, or reach out to anyone on the @offline_members team. Would love to discover some incredible people through this. 🙂

The best founder conversations happen when the cameras stop chasing perfection. An incredible evening at The Quorum Club with Gaurav Khatri (Noise), Gaurav Bhatnagar (TBO) & Gaurav Agarwal (Tata 1mg) speaking honestly about ambition, pressure, loneliness, scale, and the real cost of building. This is what Offline was built for. Real conversations with people who’ve actually lived it.

People are trapped by the stories they tell themselves. The rare ones rewrite them. A fascinating conversation between Utsav Somani (@somani_utsav) & Nir Eyal (@nireyal) on behavior, ambition, and the psychology of high performers. Full episode: youtu.be/8KWLZyjZle4

People flew in for this conversation. What followed was two hours on attention, technology, parenting, habits, belief systems, and the strange ways modern life shapes us without permission. Somewhere between dopamine loops and dinner-table conversations, the room got very honest. Founders, operators, investors, parents, product nerds. Different backgrounds. Same curiosity. Offline with Nir Eyal. One of those evenings people stayed back talking about long after it ended.
