Dear Sporting Lagos FC,
It's me again — the young designer in his penultimate year who got hired as an intern back in 2024. Funny how time flies.
First of all, thank you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to explore, learn, and develop the gifts God has blessed me with. Thank you for the feedback, guidance, patience, and mentorship you extended to a designer who was still finding his footing.
Over the past two years, I have grown tremendously. I came in as an intern and leave as a Brand Designer, carrying lessons that will stay with me for the rest of my career. Working at Sporting Lagos taught me what it means to operate at a professional level, to think beyond execution, and to deliver work with excellence and intention.
I genuinely believe the Nigerian football ecosystem is not ready for what Sporting Lagos will become in the years ahead. Being surrounded by talented creatives and ambitious individuals pushed me to grow, sharpened my thinking, and challenged me to become a better designer every day.
As with all good things, this chapter eventually comes to an end. While it's difficult to say goodbye, I leave with nothing but gratitude. It has been an absolute privilege working with what I genuinely consider one of the best storytelling teams in the world.
A special thank you to
@ajanwachuku for tagging me in the internship application post, to
@odunlami_ for being an exceptional leader and creative, and to
@hisecil for opening my eyes to the deeper side of design beyond photo retouching.
To
@enemisan,
@Nsukka_okpa,
@Divayetty1,
@official_micolo,
@LekanOmoboye,
@seewhat_isaw, and
@oluwarViktoh — thank you for the memories, the lessons, the laughs, and the opportunity to work alongside such amazing people.
To the club, the fans, and everyone who made this journey special: thank you for believing in me.
I'll always be grateful for this chapter.
Let's go Sporting! 💙
