Most freshmen show up hoping to adapt. The best freshmen arrive prepared. The College Ready Checklist ☐ Structured strength plan ☐ Fuel like an athlete ☐ Recovery plan ☐ College ready skill development ☐ Build elite habits and accountability ☐ Learn what your coach expects In 10 years as a Head College Baseball Coach, I saw one common theme: The freshmen who adapted fastest arrived with successful habits, routines, and systems in place. Athletes fighting for survival were often just as talented. This summer I am working remotely with incoming college freshmen. If you are serious about maximizing your preparation for college athletics, DM me "College Ready" I'll send you the program details and the pre-consultation questionnaire. Only serious athletes.

Coaches know who they can rely on a lot quicker than you think. Trust earns opportunities. These behaviors aren't a switch you turn on when you arrive at college. They're habits that take time to build. Which of these areas do you think incoming freshmen struggle with the most?

Thoughts And Prayers.
The @UOPacific community is heartbroken over the passing of @PacificBaseball head coach Reed Peters. An iconic figure in the California baseball community, Coach Peters joined the @PacificTigers just two years ago and led the program to one of its best seasons in history. I was with Skip two weeks ago in Scottsdale as he piloted the Tigers to our first ever @WCCsports tournament appearance. Hard to believe he’s gone, but we are so grateful for his life-changing coaching, mentoring and teaching of hundreds of student-athletes both at Pacific and @SJDCBaseball. #wccsports #ncaabaseball #RIP

In 10 years as a college head coach, the players who made the quickest improvements were able to identify their highest priority weaknesses and attack them with purpose. More isn’t always better. The athletes who improve the fastest are intentional with their development and focus on the areas that will have the greatest impact on performance. Work hard. But make sure you’re working on the right things.

What college coaches notice in the first 2 weeks: 1. Physicality 2. Skill Acquisition 3. Behavior 4. Process Most incoming freshmen believe talent is the separator. In reality, college coaches are evaluating you with a lot more detail. Which of these four areas do incoming college players struggle with the most?

Valuable information for all future and current student-athletes.
Over the next few weeks, I am going to start sharing honest insight into what actually helps players succeed at the college level. Once you step foot on a college campus, what you accomplished before becomes something to be proud of and a great memory -- but it doesn't matter nearly as much as people think. College baseball rewards players whose habits align with individual and team goals. Talent may get you recruited. Habits determine your college success. How good are your habits?
