It is grimly hilarious to see this guy ripping up decades of American soft power projects while going “Wow!” and “Gawrsh!” at stuff he doesn’t understand. God only knows what the Russians or Iranians are making of the CIA getting absolutely hosed in public by an imbecile.
I've posted the unblurred version of this on Bluesky, so if you're interested in a tiny little teaser of the future of Pythonista, you might want to follow me there. 🦋 More soon…
In case you see a new Pythonista beta in TestFlight soon, just know that the way there has been paved with validation errors and automated rejection... 😬🐍
This was one of the most interesting parts of the Vision Pro announcement for me. I do wonder if there are new permissions to enable experiences that actually require eye tracking, but it's smart to be very careful with that kind of eyeball data. Don't expect the same from Meta.
Pythonista 3.4 is finally out on the App Store. 🥳 It comes with Python 3.10, updated modules (openai, pandas), and many new possibilities for iOS automation with Python actions in the Shortcuts app. 🐍
apps.apple.com/de/app/python…
If you're still on iOS 12, please wait for the 3.4.1 update that I've just submitted to Apple. Unfortunately, 3.4 crashes immediately on iOS 12. 😳 Sorry about this!
Apple has unfortunately rejected the Pythonista 3.4 update, citing 3 separate issues. Still trying to process it all, but it's ridiculous that even a harmless link to the top 50 female names in Iran (courtesy of the `faker` module) triggered their strict sanctions policy.
I've finally managed to respond to the list of questions in the rejection, and to submit a new build that hopefully addresses any concerns. It's waiting for review now, fingers crossed… 🤞
Not really sure what to make of the others. The part about 2.5.2 and the "itms-apps" URL scheme is exactly identical to a rejection of the first beta (which was resolved without further explanation, after I sent a long message, explaining that I don't know what they mean).
Trying something different with the App Store screenshots for Pythonista 3.4. I commissioned these snake stickers from @momodraws ages ago, and they're just too cute to be sitting in a drawer. 🐍
That particular script will only work with the beta (because it uses the openai module), but it should generally be possible to make this work in the App Store version as well, just using e.g. requests.
I've played a lot with different "personalities" in this experimental ChatGPT integration for Pythonista. It's quite fascinating to see ChatGPT think of exercises as a Python tutor, and then even evaluate them (though the feedback probably won't always be correct).
Saw this recently, and I just had to make a version in Pythonista. 🐍 Code fits on 1 phone screen, and now I have a shortcut that produces a timely poem whenever I tap it. :) The Shortcuts part requires the beta for now, but the rest should work in App Store version too.
I made an AI clock for my bookshelves! It composes a new poem every minute using ChatGPT and mysteriously has this enthusiastic vibe which I am totally into instagram.com/p/Cp44-AMNyd9/
