Hey - I repurposed my patreon so we can make the lore videos we're producing more cinematic moving forward. We'd like to expand on the storytelling more as time goes on. It takes, on average, from research/info gathering, writing, editing, etc around 70-100 hours to generate a 20 minute video and we want to make them BIGGER. Welcome to the entertainment business. Companies ask you to rep them in ways that make them look appealing so they sell more units. That’s how marketing works. VW got caught using an emissions defeat device in 11 million cars in 2016. No one called for Paul Giamatti or Kieran Culkins’ heads in 2020 when they repped the Atlas. They also were told “read the script and make us look good”. That’s the gig. Children throw fits about contract terms. Professionals accept it or they don’t. This game definitely has legs. Gonna spend some more time in it over the weekend with a review to follow but my initial impression is “it’s cool”

This is the exact use case I described in my video. You can put an entire professional podcast setup in a backpack on a plane with room for an extra outfit and a bathroom bag and it’ll sound amazing.

Checked out @Enginefall today. Pros: rust-like game loop set on a big ass train that lasts a handful of hours per instance with traversal between cars ala “Snowpiercer”. Strong concept. I really dig the idea. You can die and lose everything in the tutorial (sandbox-like freedom). Nearly the entire environment is destructible/can be used for materials. Lots of flanking via tunnels/lower decks. Cons: Netcode is ROUGH Gunplay animations need work Pretty egregious memory leak, severely in need of optimization work. All in all, currently a 6/10 for performance. 9/10 in concept.
