I may get annoying with this, but my heart needed it. A little refresher and distraction from my own brain.
We a have a very smart girl on our hands. Consistent "sits" after 3 attempts. Consistent "stays" after a few minutes of corrections. "Leave it" is working pretty well about 85% of the time. Needless to say, she's tired and claimed the spot under my desk.
Now to get her to stop hating grass and poop outside instead of on pee pads π. I appreciate all the love today. Feels like old twitter.

Whenever I decided to make the change to photography (with your alls help) something became clear. I felt really good doing it, people enjoyed my style and I was making money.
Since then everything in this picture has been paid for in full from just taking pictures for people. It feels surreal. By the end of the year I will have solo shot 4 weddings, 5 proms, 5 engagements and endless couples, portraits, pets, etc.
I am still humbled by the generosity of you all. I'm reminded by it every time I get a client.
Sorry I haven't touched base on it in a long time. I was cleaning lenses when it hit me that I'd never kept you all updated.

As of now, we will be puppy searching next month. Wife greenlit the idea. I haven't been without a dog for over 15 years and the house feels empty.
But on a deeper level, I'll never forget this girl. She was basically attached to my wife during her pregnancy and unbelievably gentle with my daughter the entire time.
She always told you everything with her eyes and when she wanted attention she would lay a paw on you and stare into your soul. It's been a weird week bros, but honestly thank you for the very loud welcome back and the distractions.

Three seconds.
That was the average window of time afforded to me to get any shots of river otters that decided to break the water's surface. Not the sharpest and greatest photos, but you can see this particular river otter enjoying the crunch of an Everglades crayfish.
It helps that otters are social, so they tend to move together in what a group is called a "raft". Tracking the wakes can help but following the small line of air bubbles was what helped me anticipate where the otter would break surface next.
They're quick snackers, so they'll only surface to chomp down on a nice crunchy crayfish for a few seconds before diving back down for more.
