Record numbers of people are flocking to America's national parks — at a time when many are facing staffing shortages. In Yosemite and Zion, staff are reporting an increase in litter, toilet paper, and human feces on trails. trib.al/wU246tk

Feeling anxious? Take a moment to listen to the sounds of nature — here or anywhere around you. Research done in national parks has found that uninterrupted sounds like falling rain and bird chatter can improve your mood and lower stress. npr.org/joy

Everybody makes mistakes, but a truly good company will make it right. If I stayed at a #PalmSprings @Airbnb with no a/c, no fans and infested with bugs, there better be a full refund. Or maybe they just don't care about their customers #DoBetter @ABC7 @FOXLA @KTLAMorningNews
Renters beware of @TKVR & their abhorrent treatment of their customers. Any prospective property owners should also beware before allowing Turn Key to manage their property. @Airbnb is no better in holding them accountable

Tip Tuesday: To avoid crowds and traffic, venture into the park early or late in the day (generally, before 10 a.m. and after 3 p.m.). It is also a good time to see wildlife, fog in geyser basins, or a spectacular sunrise or sunset!

Can't see the stars from where you live? You’re not alone. With brighter urban areas, >80% of the U.S. population can no longer see the Milky Way from home. @NatlParkService works to protect parks from the increasingly prevalent effects of light pollution. npca.org/articles/1806-celeb…

Sequoia National Park turns 130 today! Despite the natural longevity of giant sequoias, early conservationists recognized they needed protection. In 1890 Congress established Sequoia National Park as a permanent refuge for sequoias, becoming the nation's 2nd national park.
