The DSF needs help. $500,000 in annual funding would allow us to sustain our three Fellows, maintain operational support for the DSF, create a clear path to hiring an Executive Director, and expand our ability to support the Django ecosystem at scale. djangoproject.com/weblog/202…
AI won't replace engineers.
But I will gladly let AI replace me at analyzing 400 failed CI builds while I sleep.
That's how I hunted down flaky tests that had been plaguing @openWISP for years.

Stellar started managing their #OpenWrt fleet with a customized #OpenWISP fork. Over time, they transitioned to a sustainable extension-based approach, reduced maintenance costs, and helped strengthen OpenWISP in the process.
Global recognition in open-source innovation at TIET.
We are proud to share that Sarthak Tyagi, Yash Agarwal, and Pushpit Kamboj have been selected for Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2026 - Google’s prestigious international open-source program.

Small #OpenSource projects can't survive on human-only maintenance: we're drowning in #AI PRs, choosing between burnout or debt.
The future is AI doing the heavy lifting: ✅ Reviews ✅ Onboarding ✅ Triage
I'm using @coderabbitai on @openwisp, we need more of this!
After 13 years contributing to the OpenWISP community, collecting feedback, taking notes, and researching, I’ve distilled my vision into the Roadmap to 2030. 🚀Scalability, universal protocols, and easier deployment ahead. openwisp.org/blog/roadmap-to…
We're excited to connect with hundreds of open source organizations at the GSoC Mentor Summit.
It’s inspiring to see the collective energy that drives open source forward.

The Banana Pi BPI-R4 fits tightly: Wi-Fi 7 via MT7988A, full OpenWRT support, 2x 10G SFP ports, PoE-capable (with soldered module). It's a dev board, so expect DIY tweaks – makes it the trickiest to deploy. Run OpenWISP in a VM for management.
Finally fixed a tricky issue in #OpenWISP that helped me uncover another hidden problem. Staying focused on the original goal was tough. I wanted to rewrite the core logic, but that would have opened another can of worms.
