I led the vaccine engagement team in South Etobicoke and I was heartened to see how we came together at all levels of government and how we were able to do the hard work – and we did that work together. We are once again facing a public health crisis and we must take action now.

For me, it is unacceptable for us to choose to turn our back on Torontonians who need us. By not voting for 24/7 indoor warming locations, we are not fully embracing the responsibilities I believe we have.

Yeah John Tory resigning as Mayor because of a sex scandal is cool and all but don't let this distract you from the fact that Doug Ford took $1000 bribes from multiple land developers and tried to launder them through his daughter's stag 'n' doe.

Anyway if progressives in Toronto can't field a serious candidate who can win under these circumstances, Toronto will get the result it deserves.

John Tory: I must step down because I kissed a girl and embarrassed my family and Rogers. Also John Tory:

Toronto's climate plan hinges on improving transit & making it free. This big proposed TTC cut moves us in the opposite direction - to fare hikes & longer waits. We'll be supporting @TTCriders in fighting these cuts, which hurt people, climate, & affordability in our City #topoli

NEW: Service cuts, up to 10 minute subway waits proposed in TTC budget The #TTC budget released yesterday proposes running 9% less service in 2023 than pre-pandemic levels, a fare increase for youth & adults, and allowing for more crowded vehicles ttcriders.ca/2023ttccuts

We would like to live in a Toronto that keeps Ontario Place a public space for all. The current proposal is a dumpster fire that reflects the current provincial municipal’s weak “leadership.” Why is it so hard to make this city thrive?

Flashback to 2018, when Tory endorsed a plan to hire 200 more police officers to combat gun violence. How’d that go? thestar.com/news/city_hall/2…

Replying to @BenSpurr
Per news release issued as mayor begins speaking, Tory is announcing expansion of the Neighbourhood Community Officer program, and spending for 200 new officers

Toronto needs more truly public and accessible waterfront space, not less. The currently-planned redevelopment of Ontario Place is a mess.
My thoughts on the redevelopment of @OntarioPlace: It must be stopped. theglobeandmail.com/arts/art…

I hope that in my lifetime we will finally get the past the "well that person is an asshole but it's okay because they are great at their art" thing. No. There are many people who are great at their art and are genuinely good human beings. We don't need this bulls***.
Further thoughts: Before I attended Aspen Music Festival in 2005, I was told by several people (teachers students) to avoid being alone with Christopher Rouse because he hit on female students. I remember thinking, "if everyone knows this, why is he still teaching here?" (1/3)

Fun fact: Toronto residents need 60pc local support to get a speed bump on their street, nearly twice the backing the mayor would need to pass bylaws under the proposed new powers

In a shameful move, Doug Ford and John Tory are undermining democracy in Toronto with Bill 39, that allows the mayor to win votes with the support of only 1/3 of City Council. Majority rule is a key part of democracy. Sign @progresstoronto's petition progresstoronto.ca/our-city

Percussionists and percussion composers: Looking for multi-perc pieces written in the last 5 years. Ideally small-med setup, <10min, some pitched instruments (vibes, glock, crotales) is cool but not necessary. Give me links where I can listen to/purchase you scores! Thanks :)
