This is the actual supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy (Saggitrarius A*), observed by JWST (NIRCam) for over 9 hours.
The flickers you see are solar flares on a mind-boggling scale, bright enough to shine across 26,000 light-years of space.

In addition to our March 1 Online Issue coming out we have our firstā¦
Print Edition!!
Our first 3 issues will be combined into a single print issue (with a few surprises!)
It will be available internationally through Amazon as our Authors are from all over the world.
ALT A close-in image of protoplanetary disc HH 30. Parts of the image are labelled āJetā (above and below the disc), āConical Outflowā, āPossible Spiralā, āDark Laneā, āDiskā, and āTailā. A scale marker in the bottom-left is labelled ā300 auā; this is a little wider than the disc itself, but less wide than the conical outflows above and below the disc.
You know itās time to clean off the iPad when youāre trying to erase marks on a drawing in your graphics program and then realize itās a fingerprint.
An absolutely fantastic image of Saturn and its rings. The rings are made largely of ice and dust, and one of the rings -the E ring- is the bluest object in our the solar system.
Merry Christmas from Bunker Squirrel Magazine!
Remember to top off your holiday plans by heading to BunkerSquirrel.com to read the Jan 1 edition of #FlashFiction
The next official JWST release will be of a high resolution image of The Firefly Sparkle galaxy: the earliest stages of the assembly of a Milky Way-type galaxy in a 600 Myr old universe.
ALT The Firefly Sparkleāis a redshift zsā¢pā¢eā¢c = 8.304 ± 0.001 gravitationally magnified arc lensed by the MACS J1423.8 2404 cluster. Left: Full field with the three objects of interest - Firefly Sparkleā(center), Firefly-Best Friend (FF-BF; bottom left), and Firefly-New Best Friend (FF-NBF; bottom right) - shown in boxes and circles. The contours show the lines of lensing magnifications (μ= 15, 20, 30, and 40). Top right: zoom in on the Firefly Sparkleāwith the clusters labelled. Bottom right: source plane reconstruction of the Firefly Sparkleāwith the position of neighbor FF-BF shown in red circle.
