My last message exchange with my friend Jo Cox before she was murdered ten years ago.
She always lifted people up.
Will always just try and be more Jo. ❤️
It’s 10 years since the murder of my good friend, Jo Cox.
A force of nature who always saw the best in people, she said that we have more in common than that which divides us.
We honour Jo’s memory by remembering that.
Today marks ten years since Jo was killed.
We remember Jo as a mother, sister, daughter, wife, friend, campaigner and public servant. We remember her courage, her compassion, and her belief that we have more in common than that which divides us.

Yesterday, the UK conducted a successful operation to interdict a Russian shadow fleet vessel — another blow to Putin’s war machine.
My sincere thanks to all those involved including our Armed Forces personnel who showed extraordinary skill, professionalism, and courage.
"A highly complicated operation executed with remarkable precision.”

10 years ago my wife, the mum of our kids & the MP for Batley&Spen was killed by a far right extremist.
At anniversaries I try to be optimistic about the future. But not this time. In the ten years since she was killed we have gone backwards & I fear our democracy is now at risk
The defence of our nation is the first duty of government.
Our Armed Forces carry out that duty every day with professionalism, courage, and extraordinary skill.
It is a huge honour and a privilege to serve alongside them again.
We're seeing a clear pattern from Reform now. We saw it in Southampton. We've seen it in Belfast. They're all over social media and the airwaves with inflammatory and provocative language. Then when violence occurs, they go to ground.
Foreign states are increasingly hiding behind proxies to carry out hostile attacks against our country.
That's why we’ve today introduced the National Security (State Threats) Bill: arming law enforcement with stronger powers to better protect the public.
It’s official.
GMB Congress has just made One Parliament One Employer GMB policy.
650 MPs. 650 separate employers. One broken system.
Not for much longer.
It's not just the exploitation of a tragedy.
JD Vance's picture of Britain - where migrants have led to a crime surge - is the opposite of the truth.

That some Labour MPs think being an elected Mayor is running away, rather than understanding that it’s a concrete way to do politics in power, is the Westminster bubble summed up.
A third Labour MP texts: ‘Andy Burnham failed in 2010. He failed in 2015. He ran away from Westminster when the going got tough. That’s not leadership.’
I sympathise with MPs who don’t want the instability of leadership speculation, but this is unacceptable.
The Labour Party exists to serve places like Makerfield. We must not risk the seat electing a Reform MP because we are too busy fighting each other.
EXC: Labour MPs opposed to a leadership contest are refusing to campaign for Andy Burnham in the Makerfield by-election
One Labour MP who has decided not to campaign said it would be ‘an act of self harm’

Nigel Farage hasn't voted in Parliament for the last 11 weeks and has now missed 77 votes in a row, according to official records. The last time he turned up was to vote against adraft regulations for the Employment Rights Act, and that says it all.
Proportional Representation will well and truly be the end of the Labour Party as we have known it. It will continue to exist in a shrunken form -- a party for some urban, university educated liberals mostly in the public or charity sectors.
Never seeking majority government again. Never trying to be the broad church of the British left or a coalition of labour interests.
PR will mean elites trading off policies with other elites post-election in exchange for high office.
The fact that, for the first time in its history, the Champions League final will not be free to watch in the UK is a case study in everything that's wrong with modern football.
This is so daft. The vast majority were. The clear difference is candidate even those who aren’t the biggest Andy fans can see it. It’s not just about who who campaigns it’s also about the response.
Imagine if all those people out in Makerfield happy to canvass a seat we already hold had put themselves out to canvass in the local elections in the exact same area that went to Reform.
That would have been a Labour thing to do. But no doubt they weren’t seen hide nor hair of
