Dentist as lost a crown Mon eve. Didn't fit perfectly so had to tell him one edge was slightly bent as it may have been bitten. Omitted to mention that wasn't me, Hugo had it off the coffee table & dropped it in the hall. TBH he could have really mangled it or swallowed it π€£
Plinths may not be on, but I've moved Nigella and the rest of my recipe books into their new home. Starting to feel like an actual kitchen.
And yes, I measured the span of my recipe books when planning the width of that island π
Thought Hugo had relived himself in the kitchen after our walk. No, plumbing's failed under the sink π Thank fuck I was only out walking around college and out for 25 minutes!
The kitchen may not be quite finished, but that's not going to stop me. Christening it making a few, now traditional, treats as gifts from @Nigella_Lawson's Christmas. Oh and a batch of roasted sprout & bacon soup for easy winter suppers.
Kitchen fitting continues; worktops were templated last week, and this week Chris has fitted the cupboard run in the hallway. He'll install the Butler's pantries next week once the worktops are in.
Realised the utility room still has no power for the appliances β I even flagged it back on 26 Oct. Canβt believe I didnβt notice it was still outstanding. Hard to spot missing sockets on a clean wall, especially when they never ran the cables at first fix!
Decorator started prepping the lounge. I now have just the middle room that's usable down stairs. The kitchen diner is full of units that will become a kitchen, hall cupboards & utility. It's going to be fun few days in what's now little more than a bedsit!
Morning at a chilly Woburn scoping out a few things. It's closed to the public Mon - Weds in the winter so we hopped into a landrover and had a private tour. Sometimes I don't hate my job π
