📣Yesterday, the Senate unanimously passed my Carla Walker Act, which creates a pilot program to support forensic genetic genealogy DNA analysis and helps solve cold cases.
This bill was named after Carla Walker, a Fort Worth native, whose case went cold for 46 years. Thanks to forensic genetic genealogy, her murderer was caught, tried, & convicted in 2021.
I’m proud to have championed this legislation & look forward to seeing it pass the House soon.
