Told this to a CEO of a media company last week: Everyone is a clip farmer now Short-form video is the language of the internet. If you produce podcasts, live streams, webinars, TV shows, or really any video, the job is broader than just making good content You also have to systematically farm the moments that can travel across social The difference now is that AI agents can make good clips and posts at scale, on autopilot (this only became true within the last 9 months) The best teams we work with have dozens of agents running constantly, harvesting clips from everything they produce Every media company, marketer, creator, and founder could use a better clipping operation The only real question is whether humans do it manually, or whether AI agents do it 24/7 in the background Which is exactly what happened here: this clip was found, edited, captioned, and posted by an Overlap AI agent

The ideal clips posting strategy as of spring 2026 (save this and send it to your social media person) @jbaerofficial runs @Overlap_AI , the platform powering always-on clip distribution for the top podcast networks. I run @thursday_labs, a network of 70 shows using the same playbook. We sat down to share the best way to grow a show on social using clips: > Instagram: ramp from 10 to 40/day > TikTok: 2-3/day, hard cap at 12 > YouTube: 2-3 shorts 1 mid-form > Facebook: 10/day (most underrated) > X: 2-3/day > LinkedIn: 3/week, only 1 video Heavy volume is the strategy when calibrated to each platform. Note that every platform punishes new accounts for going too hard too soon. Full breakdown in the carousel. Episode of our new limited series, The Podcast Podcast, drops soon. Follow me and Jonathan Baer to watch it. Hope this helps!

Have you checked out @Overlap_AI? Pretty powerful for creating workflows that cover the process end-to-end, from making the clips to distributing them across platforms. Recommend checking out their case study with iHeartMedia.

Excited to announce a partnership between @Overlap_AI & @FoulTerritoryTV ⚾️ The Foul Territory podcast network has built one of the fastest growing digital brands in baseball media, centered around player voices and conversations fans actually care about. We’re thrilled to partner with them to help scale short-form video even further. Using Overlap’s AI agents, the Foul Territory team has been automating clips on autopilot, making it easier to increase output, expand reach, and get more out of every show. AI agents working alongside creative teams to scale content operations, distribution, and monetization is the future of sports media. Huge thanks to @marc_weiner, @MichaelJBier, @scottbraun, and the broader Foul Territory team.

a brief history of clipping the idea of 'clipping' started in 2021 and rose meteorically as streamers adopted it following the release of Reels and Shorts. for the next few years, clipping growth stagnated as society first developed its addiction to short form video. in 2025, over 80% of all internet traffic was short form video. in early 2025, Whop released @contentrewards, allowing people to be paid out on a performance basis. A win-win we released @Overlap_AI workflows in June 2025, with immediate adoption from iHeart Media, the world’s largest podcast publisher media companies have finally realized that they need to control the narrative in short form. it's only a matter of time before other companies follow suit

What people often missed about clipping is that there are different types: (1) Content Rewards: Where creators or brands create a bounty program, paying only for the views that a clip garners. This is great for teams that need one-off growth but leaves the campaign sponsor with no value after the campaign has ended (this is when you see a 15 y/o kid making 6 figures posting clips) (2) Secondary Accounts: Brands or creators themselves owning internal clips accounts that can be perceived as fan accounts. These are great in tandem since they are repeatable and often create new revenue streams once they’ve reached monetization. This is an increasing use case we’ve seen for our customers If I were a media company or podcast owner right now, I would do both

Many chief clipping officers are emerging They're frequently using Overlap to manage a team of agents that autonomously run clip accounts It's one of the only ways to be visible on socials
We'll soon see the rise of the "Chief Clipping Officers" at companies The person who figures out the 47 second moment inside the 2 hour podcast that gets 10M views Probably will be the highest paid marketing hire of 2027

new video understanding model alert 🚨 the squad cooked with this one
Introducing Iris by @Overlap_AI A new video reframing model designed to convert 16:9 video into 9:16 faster and more accurately than other products on the market Most (if not all) other reframing solutions are narrow, solving only conversational video. Iris is trained to understand multimodal and multi-component videos, allowing it to perfectly reframe any video
