The french ones are the most interesting/ obscure: a Breton cycling photo book and a collection of Antoine Blondin's writing. I translated one piece once β which as a task, was murder as the prose was florid and philosophical.

The Tour stage finishes in Pontarlier (Doubs) today. Not sure they still make Bicyclette Gurtner there.
Jean Alavoine, 2nd Bordeaux-Paris in 1921 apparently. He was a star who won a bunch of tour de France stages.

This mornimg they said they had cut out a climb, because the farmers were upset, I thought they meant they were sad because their animals had to be called. Grievance, not grief. Silly me. Actually angry their animals have had to be culled so might interrupt the race to protest.
