More threats of nuclear war from Dmitry Medvedev.
The deputy head of the Russian Security Council has said that Russia will use nuclear weapons if Ukraine achieves its goal in the war, i.e. reaching the 1991 borders.
In this case, Medvedev said, Russia would then strike not only Kyiv, but also Berlin, London, Washington, and other places "long ago put into the flight targets of the Russian nuclear triad".
The text of his "message":
"OK. Let's imagine for a moment that Russia lost and "Ukraine with its allies" won. What for our enemies — the neo-Nazis with their Western sponsors — would be such a victory? Well, as it has been said many times, a return to the borders of 1991. That is, the direct and irreversible collapse of present-day Russia, which constitutionally includes the new territories. And then a furious civil war with the final disappearance of our country from the world map. Tens of millions of victims. The death of our future. The collapse of everything in the world.
And now comes the main question: Do these idiots really believe that the people of Russia will swallow such a division of their country? That we will all think something like, "Well, alas, it happened. They won. The present Russia has disappeared. It is a pity, of course, but we have to go on living in a collapsing, dying country, because a nuclear war is much more terrible for us than the death of our loved ones, our children, our Russia..."? And that the leadership of the state headed by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in such a case will hesitate to make the hardest decisions?
Well. It will be quite different. The collapse of Russia will have much more terrible consequences than the results of an ordinary, even the most protracted war. For attempts to return Russia to the borders of 1991 will lead to only one thing. To the global war with the Western countries using all the strategic arsenal of our state. Against Kyiv, Berlin, London, Washington. Against all other beautiful historical places that have been long ago included in the flight targets of our nuclear triad.
Will we have the guts for this if the disappearance of a thousand-year-old country, our great homeland, is at stake, and the sacrifices made by the people of Russia over the centuries will be in vain?
The answer is obvious."
Today Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia, once again wrote in his Telegram channel that Ukraine should be destroyed as an independent state and that the only option that Russia offers for Ukrainians is to live in an empire:
"The existence of Ukraine is deadly for Ukrainians. And I am not at all referring only to the current state, the Bandera political regime. I am talking about any, absolutely any Ukraine.
No matter how much they aspire to the mythical European Union and NATO. When choosing between eternal war and inevitable death and life, the absolute majority of Ukrainians (except for a minimal number of sick nationalists) will eventually choose life. They will realize that life in a big common state, which they do not love much now, is better than death. Their death and the death of their loved ones. And the sooner Ukrainians realize this, the better." - he wrote.
