Now, about the larger Metal Storm grenade launcher. If you had thermobaric grenades, launched in a pattern to clear paths in minefields..... 12)

a 5x5 box of metal storm tubes, loaded with 10 rounds each, would be 250 projectiles to be fired at FPVs. Estimate 25 shots fired in a burst for 1 FPV, that's 10 FPVs per Storm box. 3 or 4 Storm boxes x 250 projectiles.... math is hard 11)
11
Metal storm has no moving parts, so no jams at critical times. It's basically like a focused Claymore mine with reloads. A box of 10 tubes with 15 projectiles loaded is fired electronically. If the fire control system says fire 10 tubes for 2 rounds each, it's 20 projectiles 10)
13
stacked into tubes, the storm projectiles have the sufficient numbers to shoot down dozens of FPV that try to pile on the target 9)

An APS uses a rocket to shoot down another rocket traveling at hundreds of fps, whereas a metal storm, with hundreds of projectiles, could be programmed to fire controlled bursts of cheap, dumb projectiles at incoming, slow, FPVs 8)
6
Small turrets of metal storm type of drone defense, mounted on gimbals for 360 covered, could defend against dozens of FPVs. A tradition APS, designed for ATGW/RPGs, would soon be overwhelmed and out of ammunition. 7)

FPVs are cheap, so the counter for FPV must be cheap, which is why a technology like Metal Storm, using hundreds of cheap projectiles, could be used instead against multiple e.g. dozen or more FPVs 6)
7
FPVs are plentiful and cheap, just like RPGs were, but nobody expected an IFV to roll up on dozens of RPGs piling on. APS systems munitions are expensive in comparison and are overwhelmed quickly. 5.)

APS systems like Iron Fist, etc., were designed to counter ATGW and RPG, but these weapons are increasingly sidelined by the proliferation of FPVs 4) youtube.com/watch?v=I0ymxZru…

connect it to decent sensors and it can be the FPV killer that APS systems cannot. 3) youtube.com/watch?v=d8hlj4Eb…

it's intellectual property is foundered, nobody could make an interesting enough weapon for it until.... FPVs came along. 2) youtube.com/watch?v=d8hlj4Eb…

I've said it before, but if militaries are looking for ways to shoot down FPVs, then they should be looking at the Metal Storm concept. 1) youtube.com/watch?v=FyfkR3mx…

Indeed.
Italian PM Meloni: If you do not know how to defend yourself, if you ask someone else to guarantee your security, you will pay for it in terms of autonomy, sovereignty, and the ability to defend your national interests. Defense spending is the price of freedom, and I want Italy to be a free nation.

🇺🇦🇮🇹 42-year-old Italian volunteer Alex Pineschi was killed while defending Ukraine near Lyman, according to reports from fellow foreign volunteers and Ukrainian media. Before coming to Ukraine, Pineschi had spent years in conflict zones in Syria and Iraq, where he fought against ISIS and worked as an instructor. He later said that he joined Ukraine’s defense because he had found “a cause worth risking everything for.” Reports say he was serving with a Ukrainian reconnaissance and drone unit and was killed alongside his comrades on May 23. Alex became one of many foreign volunteers who left behind their ordinary lives to stand with Ukraine against Russia’s invasion. His story is a reminder that this war has drawn people from around the world who believed Ukraine’s fight was also a fight for freedom. Honor, respect, and gratitude to a man who chose to stand with Ukraine.

x.com/Militarylandnet/status… EVERY Corps commander should be able to tell any superior to not interfere with their sub-units. Side-stepping the chain of command ends in micromanagement and is why Syrskyi needs to be relieved. Centralized, command-push leadership is Soviet-era b.s.

✍️ Certain Ukraine's Corps commanders possess enough political leverage to openly challenge orders from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi. Read all details ⬇️ militaryland.net/news/some-u…
