The 'why do we need parkrun, just go for a run' comment breaks my heart 💔
For the vulnerable, the lonely, the isolated, the marginalised (ironically those hit hardest by the pandemic) IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE 5K RUN.
People miss social connection, belonging, community 😪

Eva Gierlich is a parkrun Event Director in Norway 🇳🇴
She fitted in her #notparkrunday 5k when she was stationed on an oil rig!
As 12 laps of the helideck was about 1k, so to avoid getting dizzy she had to switch directions every 5 minutes! 😂
