With @Canadadev support, our ILGRP project & @ACEPA brought CSOs to Kenya’s Parliament to shape the Social Protection Bill 2025. Their input was adopted and the bill is now law, expanding protection for more Kenyans.

On July 30, 🇬🇭Ghana’s Parliament passed the landmark Social Protection Bill 2025-a milestone for social equity.
The bill was shaped by extensive consultations with CSOs, ensuring citizens’ voices were heard in the process.

Through the ILGRP project, funded by @CanadaDev, the Parliamentary Centre & @ACEPA convened a CSO working group and presented a memorandum of recommendations to the Committee on Gender, Children & Social Welfare—inputs that informed the final report to Parliament.
The bill now awaits the President’s assent.
