The iOS community vibe on 🧵has been very refreshing. Probably not logging on here much, at least for now, TBH. 👋 threads.net/@parrots01

As requested, added about 20 new designs based on popular icons to Apollo's merch store! Shirts, hoodies, hats, phone cases and more. 👕 The promo code "RIPAPOLLO" for 10% off plus free shipping is ending very soon too! cottonbureau.com/people/apol…

Hey Xcode dev tools team: FB12567165. I think it'd be great if you persisted the debugger output filter y'all added in Xcode 15 to the workspace settings. We'd be able to get rid of the `OS_ACTIVITY_MODE` = `disabled` trick finally.

ICYMI: Xcode 15b3 is out, and – hurray! – has removed the 10-view limit in SwiftUI. You can now add as many child views as you want without using Group 🎉

Ah, bum: the 10-view SwiftUI limit is still there in Xcode 15b1. #WWDC23

Which in the long term might have been for the worse for BS. Social networks get worse the bigger they get. I don’t like the cool-kid gate keeping, but this might just preserve BS’s vibe long term. Let Threads be the high school cafeteria, BS can be the anti-establishment.
Replying to @parrots
I think if BlueSky had scaled up quicker, they could have also done what Threads probably will end up doing. But BlueSky took the conservative route (for better or worse) and well, we are left with a Meta / Zuckerberg monopoly…

Honestly? Once the dust settles I think Threads is going to fill the Twitter-shaped hole people were hoping Mastodon would be. Mastodon won’t die, but it’ll be the niche Linux-on-the-desktop social platform, and lose a lot of Twitter refugees in the near term.

Am I there? Yes. Am I grumpy I have to use my IG handle with a stupid '01' on the end of it? Also, yes. threads.net/@parrots01

Any Storyboard / UIKit friends on the inside? FB12457952 is a regression that is still present in B3.

All I want for America's birthday is Xcode beta 3 (tomorrow? 🤞) to fix wired debugging for iPhone. Wireless install launch is so slow, and the workaround in the release notes doesn't work for me.

Ugh - am I really going to have to split out this JSON Postgres column entirely from my main DB and move it to something like Mongo? The single column is eating up like 49gig out of my 51gig DB. This'll be a fun summer project. 😳

Always tricky to separate what people ask for vs what is actually helpful. I've been procrastinating on this pop-up (when you tap on a run on the map) for a long time. "show me stats and graphs!" is the default ask, but I really don't think that's useful in the moment at all.

...of course, when you tap a search result, people will expect something more than just the run being highlighted on the map. They'll expect a card w/ some kind of info.

As much as I hate the graphs, the eventual magic could be in the ability to annotate them. As a snowboarder, warnings about flats would be *chefskiss*
