A new AI search guide on a Friday? Google knows we all work on the weekend, clearly. TLDR • AI visibility is becoming as important as traditional SEO visibility. Brands now need content that AI assistants can confidently summarize and cite. • Ranking #1 matters less if AI Overviews answer the question before the click even happens. • Google is rewarding clear, authoritative, “people-first” content, but really content that’s easy for AI systems to extract and trust. •Citation optimization is becoming the next SEO battleground: marketers will increasingly care about whether their brand is referenced inside AI-generated answers, not just organic rankings. developers.google.com/search…

☝️Google Analytics will now be categorizing traffic with an “ai-assistant” medium when the referral source is identified as a recognized AI assistant.
