that’s the question isn’t it. what WILL she do? there are no youth clubs for her to attend. food, cinema tickets, any sort of third space activity is all too expensive. their parents are underpaid, saturday jobs don’t exist any more, children have truly been abandoned by the govt

These ‘hydration breaks’ are fundamentally warping the World Cup. Curacao had just enjoyed perhaps the highlight so far with that equaliser against Germany and were on the attack again. Then three minutes to promote a laptop brand, and momentum is handed straight back. Wretched.

Trying to explain to someone how good Brazil’s attack used to be when their strikers post Ronaldo have been ‘Jo’, ‘Fred’ and ‘Igor Thiago’

Just didn’t have it in me to stay up and watch Haiti v Scotland at 2am. Watched Brazil v Morocco half asleep and went straight to bed once it ended. I feel like Rio Ferdinand at QPR. Past my prime.

Over the coming weeks we need to see way more of this. The locals need to fully get behind all the teams that have already had appalling treatment from the Administration. We need to show that the world is full of way more nice, decent people than horrible racists
🗣️ “I want to say thank you to Algeria for choosing Lawrence, Kansas.” 🇺🇸 The locals in USA are all getting behind Algeria. 🇩🇿

When the U.K. Foreign Office considered denying North Koreans visas to play at the 1966 World Cup, FIFA told the FA that they would immediately relocate the tournament. That was when FIFA still had something remotely resembling a spine.

Me encanta cómo el Mundial ayuda a recordarte las distintas etapas de tu vida. Dónde estabas, con quién lo veías y hasta cómo era el mundo en ese momento. Nostalgia pura.

Think EA have been proven correct in their assertion that FIFA needed them more than they needed FIFA. EA have released a World Cup Update largely the same as 2018 & 2022 albeit with some licensing changes) while Fifa have shoved their license into a bunch of unappealing games.

Not to sound all “Old man yells at cloud” but I remember when World Cup games had 200 playable nations and you could play a full qualification campaign. The Official World Cup games we’ve had since 2014 have been a complete travesty…

Think I also owe Me Paterson a massive humble apology. I was not familiar with his game but I’m more than happy to have been proved wrong now!!!
Dear Martin Paterson, I am terribly sorry for writing you off before a ball was kicked this season. Thank you for what was a moment in a season that we’ll take forward with us for life. Name edged into this club’s fine history. 👑 #Notts

He came in when they were at rock bottom. He turned them around. He delivered an enormous victory. But they’ve grown tired of the boring playing style so they’re going to get rid of him. It doesn’t always work out for the best…

If Starmer is forced out, he’ll be the fifth PM in a row to last less than a full term. There are some structural issues making the job near impossible. Changing the name above the door won’t fix it.
