Thanks to everyone who came along last night (or joined on Zoom) It was great to share my progress so far and to discuss ideas for future development. If you do encounter any bugs or odd behaviour, let me know on here or file an issue at github.com/pdjstone/archimed…

Try out the original ARM OS, Arthur, on an emulated Acorn Archimedes A310, running in your browser! archi.medes.live/#preset=a31… Click the floppy icon to browse the Archimedes Welcome Disc and try out some of the apps designed to show off the blazing-fast 8Mhz ARM2 RISC CPU.

I love the ambiguous reading of this headline that suggests there are in fact *several* NASA spacecraft queuing up to take this asteroid out. Like JWST has gone rogue and can't wait to smash the shit out of this thing. 🛰️🪨💥 #DARTMission

I've not done any proper web dev for... quite some time. Now getting up to speed on modern JS/CSS, S3, CloudFlare. Next up, WebPack!

First job out of uni, had to maintain an internal LAMP-based billing webapp riddled with SQLi, XSS etc. Once while testing on prod (there was ONLY prod) I accidently pressed # before hitting enter on a numeric form field. Any user could have done it at any time, but it was me.
Tell me you took down production without telling me you took down production

Can't wait to see what people come up with for @ARM2bot to run. Blazing fast 8Mhz CPU, 4MB RAM, BBC BASIC V, high-res 256 colour graphics, 8-channel stereo sound - go wild!

I compiled my favourite Archimedes emulator to WebAssembly and now it runs (just about) in a browser. Lots more to do

Loading floppy images now works! (and I'm still no better at Lander than I was 30 years ago)

Things I *should* know but always just try both ways until it works: - latitude vs longitude - big vs little endian - stack grows which way? - ln -s dst / src ?? - SSH forward / reverse forwarding - Software Upda... vs Software & Up...

Good luck to anyone else who will be trying to convince their extended family to put the JWST launch on the TV on Christmas Day

For anyone in the UK still trying to figure out where to watch #StarTrekDiscovery S4 - it's on the well-known "PlutoTV" network at 9pm. Because the search is broken, I had a poke in the site JSON and confirmed it'll be on the Sci-Fi channel.

Apparently it's not available on demand, you actually have to arrange your schedule to sit in front of the TV at 9pm and sit through the adverts, like in the olden days

Actually I am slightly impressed that you can watch their shows in a normal browser (yes, even Firefox) without needing to create an account or hand over any personal details

This actually happens with any normal mirror if you say "Linus Torvalds" five times to it

Okay, I always knew I wasn't exactly handsome but I've never had a mirror straight up kernel panicking
