Weekly build in public recap 🚀
• Shipped bug fixes for Pigi — Savings Goals feature is now in App Store review
• Ran my first Apple Search Ads tests with the free $100 promo — got a few installs 5 more trials started (all canceled almost immediately 😅)
• Tried a “let’s connect” post → lost 2 followers… then the honest “I failed to connect” version actually gained me 20 new followers and sparked real chats with other builders
• Still zero paid users on Pigi but the building-in-public community side is finally feeling solid
What was one win (or funny fail) from your week?

Pigi update:
- Testing Apple Search Ads $100 free promo in some EU markets: couple installs but still zero new trials
- Started doing some ASO keyword research: discovered Pigi is already top 3 in a few smaller markets but traffic basically nothing yet
And I’m still waiting on that first paying user...

I tried @TryPricePush to clean up Pigi’s localized pricing.
my old setup was basically “ask ChatGPT for PPP pricing and hope it’s not too wrong” haha
it uses central bank PPP data and changed about 90% of my prices.
most of them went down by 20-75%, and one went up by 110% 😮
not sure what the revenue impact will be yet, but it definitely caught pricing mistakes I had already missed.

Pigi has 3 free trials so far and all 3 were cancelled.
Most likely just indie devs checking the app after launch, not people actually looking for a budgeting app.
So for now I’m treating it more as early noise than feedback.
Still waiting for that first real budgeting user.

[ Day 2: post-launch ] fixed a bug in Pigi from my phone, in the ChatGPT app, while lying in bed lol
monthly review PDF export was looking squeezed.
With React Native Expo I could ship a JS-only fix to OTA in under 15 min instead of having to wait for another apple approval.

I added a QR download card to the Pigi landing page for desktop.
If you open it on your laptop, the CTA gives you a QR code.
If you open it on your phone, it goes straight to the App Store.
Tiny detail, but it made the page feel much less awkward.
Curious how others solve this handoff for mobile apps?

I think the most overbuilt part of Pigi might be the App Store screenshots.
It started as: make the screenshots look nice and consistent in Figma.
It ended as a whole side project: personalize the app state for every locale, walk through the app, and retake the full screenshot set.

The nice thing about all this: I did not have to build it manually.
GPT-5.5 came up with the workflow and Codex built it in about half a day.
84 localized screenshots: 12 locales x 7 screens, with personalized sample data, captured by walking through the app with computer use.
If I had done this by hand in Figma, I think it would have taken days.
