In 2018, we were told that we were “10 years too late,” so it’s a pleasant surprise to see that they are still around! 🎉

A restaurant assistant was fined RM5,000 for possessing an African spurred tortoise—a protected species—for feng shui purposes and without a license.

Turtles are wildlife and they should be left in the wild. Do not keep them as pet, or for whatever reason. If you absolutely must keep them, ensure that you have the proper documentation/ license. Especially if they’re listed in the Malaysian Wildlife Conservation Act.

2025: 1,515 butir
