What counts as disproportional? It's sad. It's tragic. It's somewhat inevitable. But why would the base rate be the LA population as a whole? Compare to other cities maybe.

Can we just admit - its brilliant, dazzling, smart, athletic, but necessitated because they're scared of Wemby ! against 28 other teams they could have generate 5 good shots before that corner 3.
In 10 years, this clip will go viral while we reminisce on this Knicks team

Came across this one Dialectics of Migration: Social Bulimia and the Deportation Pipeline in New York City academic.oup.com/bjc/article… "Social bulimia is a theory that can be used to explain the dialectics of migration in late modernity. It was advanced to understand the criminological and sociological processes regarding the trends of increasing criminalization in the United States" - from the British Journal of Strained Analogies.

Spratt's not the front runner. Might not even make the run off. But he clearly is the story. They could have asked if your nabe voted for Bass or Raman. But the question everyone wonders is "Who Vote Pratt?"

Wine can feel like one of the most intimidating things to learn: regions, vintages, pairings, labels, prices, and the fear of looking like you don’t know what you’re doing. In this episode of How To, Mike Pesca talks with Ross who wants to feel a little less lost around wine, and @thejoelstein , author of The Corrupt Wine Writer, who argues that the whole thing needs to be demystified. His advice: stop treating wine like a status test. It’s food. #Wine #HowTo #Podcast #FoodAndDrink #JoelStein @pescami

My plan to get Americans to care about the Rohingya - put 7 of them in a cave at a time. It's the only way.

Really good @reason Roundtable today, with @pescami of @PescaGist in for @petersuderman. He, @kmanguward @MattWelch discuss alt-right lumbersexuals, former Sen. Bill Bradley's stupendous awfulness (go Knicks), the terrible Iran War, and more. youtu.be/-FMBMlA6uQc?si=qRna…

REPORT: QB Brendan Sorsby allegedly bet on Turkish basketball, Romanian soccer, obscure doubles tennis matches, and Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. Per @PeteNakos, Sorsby also reportedly bet on Indiana Hoosiers football games in 2022 while on the team “to feel more connected to the team.”

They can't just wait for the proper announcement? People w knowledge of the results have to prove their disloyalty and unprofessionalism. This clearly was spurred by trying to beat the betting markets.

LA Times trying to play catch-up on this story they really dropped the ball on. Wang's Fiance (she now says he wasn't really?) was convicted of being a covert agent. for China. For a year LA Times had a single perfunctory story emphasizing Wang's resilience. She pleads guilty this week and only now are they quoting all these public officials raised red flags over the last year and a half. There are also very invested in not warning us all against racism even though her main accuser within Acadia was the first Asian American female mayor of that town. And even though as THEIR headline says the city was involved in a spy scheme. latimes.com/california/story…

Whatever else is going on the LAT is very very worried about anyone coming to a racist conclusion. The news of her plea broke Monday. This is the only original reporting until Friday. A story about how the heavily Chineese enclave of Arcadia fears a racist backlash and fears scapegoating. latimes.com/california/story…
