Review of Draft amendments to tourism Act
Today, I had the honour of joining fellow tourism stakeholders from the private sector at the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities for a consultative meeting to review the draft amendments to Uganda's Tourism Act.
With nearly two decades having passed since the 2008 Act came into force, and with tourism evolving rapidly, it is both timely and necessary to revisit the law to ensure it reflects the realities, opportunities, and challenges of today's industry.
As someone deeply passionate about tourism and its role in transforming communities and economies, I was grateful for the opportunity to be present, listen, learn, and contribute ideas to conversations that will help shape the future of the sector.
It is always inspiring to witness government and industry players come together to plan for the growth and sustainability of a sector I advocate for wholeheartedly.
I will be sharing a detailed breakdown of some of the key discussions and proposed changes.
STAY TUNED!
