David Campese on the boks: “Are they killing rugby? Are they hell! They play the game we all want to play, they have the support and culture many teams kill for and their mental strength and self-belief defines their brands.

They are a magnificent team, iconic in stature and their status as world champions is nothing more than their brilliance and fortitude deserves.”

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment & I told them they didn’t understand life. J. Lennon

Student teachers are reporting to me that the students in classes they observe are a 1/5 for e engagement. This means they are bored. Boredom kills learning. Here’s what we can do in schools to get students engaged!

I ran a “future ready” class for a group of education majors this week. I asked them to rank the engagement of high school students they had been observing. 0 being “get me out of here” 5 being “I don’t want this class to end”. Every student gave a score of 1!! 1/2

My issues with this: 1. Why the heck are future teachers observing poor teachers? 2. Why are they not observing great teachers? 3. Why are so many students bored in class? Boredom kills learning!! 4. When we make learning authentic, relevant and transferable engagement spikes!
