Alright, no hate please, but work is willing to fork out for a max sub somewhere. They are tasking me with a solo build of something that, lets just say should require a full team. That's not in the budget, but they approved me to go ahead and get an AI sub somewhere to help out.
Right now, I mostly just code like normal, if I get stuck, then I ask for some help. I'm not vibe coding here, mostly boilerplate, handling redundant CRUD shit that eats into time, etc. What are yalls recommendations? Codex, Claude, other?
Latest models I have played with that worked well for some more complex tasks to help with were GPT 5.4 and Opus 4.6 and they got it right more often than wrong. I will be reviewing code and all that jazz and again, not looking to send out a swarm of agents or whatever, just need a junior or two worth of capability to handle the more mundane time consuming stuff so I can focus on the more complex tasks and system design stuff.
