Dry weather will continue through the weekend with temps warming back into the 40s & 50s. Then a weather system will move thru the state with a rain/snow mix Sunday night, changing to snow on Mon. Accumulations near an inch are possible along and north of I-74. #ILwx

Yikes.
It becomes harder and harder to focus on other improvements when we are going back and spending time cleaning up stops we have already improved when things like this keep happening. Hopefully, this is the last of the vandalism...4 shelters in two days.

Clarification: This is preliminary direction from council to staff. Council will approve final levy next month, and that goes to county next spring to determine tax rate.

.@NormalILL Council approves flat levy for next year, meaning property tax rate will drop. The town will now fund its pensions at 90 percent rather than 100 percent and must find another $96,000 in general fund savings.
Public comment lineup for tonight’s @NormalILL Council. Expect a lot on property tax hike

Kevin McCarthy: "I'm willing to pause (funding pensions at 100 percent) for a year to see what the state of Illinois does" regarding pension consolidation. Bill could pass the General Assembly this month.
