Deputy Director for Primary Care for @NHSDevonCCG. Interested in leadership, change, organisational behaviour. (plus a bit of fishing and long distance walking)
Had a full & challenging agenda at PCCC. Very satisfying when hard work & prep pays off. Thanks & appreciation for teams excellent work from the Chair. Love seeing people grow just a little taller with a few words of praise-developing others is important! now a/l to rest & recover
Congratulations to Philippa Hynam from @coleridgeonline who is a finalist in the Community Nursing category of the #RCNiAwards, sponsored by @NHSEngland
Philippa implemented group consultations for adults with poorly-controlled type 2 diabetes. More at nurseawards.co.uk
Concur @SamuelHoldenNHS - v nice to come home to. The ‘little things’ are often received as ‘big things’. - Thanks @SimonTapley
Right across @NHSDevonCCG peoples flexibility around hours, area of focus, work setting etc was as swift and far-reaching as it was important.
Found this to be a decent read. Was reading through ‘what is digital’ section reflecting I’m guilty of thinking of digital as specific ‘things’ rather than use of digital era thinking...then stumbled across a v small pic of me. ☺️

Clapped for my amazing frontline colleagues and also for those who work so hard behind the scenes to support and enable them.
They are as a group utterly remarkable, - past, present and future.

Excellent @NHSDevonCCG primary care committee today
Big focus on capturing #COVID learning
Great to hear CCG investment in system recruitment , in collaboration with @Devon_LMC, currently yielding a GP a fortnight
Also to learn a small Practice has secured new GP partners
Very very fortunate to have a team that understand I don’t like starting a period of leave with things playing on my mind. They work so hard to help close off frustrations, to take ownership of issues, and where they can’t, to talk things down in terms of significance.

Incredibly busy but incredibly productive day. Two lessons relearnt.
1) importance of perspective sharing to both confirm and challenge your views
2) v v small amounts of time are the difference between instructing and explaining / teaching
Really sorry for the staff of @TMLewin to hear of their demise. I guess at least home working is going to help me stretch the life of my collection of John Francombe slim fits.
(Sigh) ‘all the hallmarks of being highly adapted to infect humans’
(Btw, look at that pigs expression 😢 - 200 years from now we’ll be pulling down statues of anyone involved in intensive farming)

I genuinely believe if 45 minute meetings became the new default it would 100% improve people's mental health in lockdown #takeTimeForaPeeAndCoffee RT this, make it happen, back to back is just unkind and hurting people
